Well this friend of mine has come to me today saying: do we want to go to Berlin for this holidays season?

I said well let me think about it but I already know that I won’t be able to go with them (he and his wife) since either I would not stand a long travel by car or by airplane. Then I thought about this blog and I said to myself that I could put in here my thoughts about this travel, just like if I was about to do it for real. So first off le t’s say we go to Berlin by car, that will be driven by my friend. He has and Audi A4 station wagon, which is a good car, maybe not too comfortable for the one who his sit in his back, which is strange given that this car is a station wagon, very long, but trust me, I have been on this car many times and while the front seats are very comfortable with a lot of leg room, the back seaters would not be too pleased, I am not telling that you cannot perform a long trip with this car but I just want to say that once that you see this car from the outside you will be surprised with the not so cavernous interior.

Anyway the Audi A4 has a great engine and is very stable on the road and this will surely make a pleasant travel .

We should start our trip early, very early in the morning, so we should avoid the traffic that is very heavy on the motorway, at least for a good fraction of time. Starting our trip at 6 am should let us arrive to Berlin by 7 pm, just in time for dinner.

My friend told me that he would drive all the time not giving the steer to me (thanks!) nor to his wife (this case I don’t know if she would be so pleased) since he really like to drive his car and this kind of trip is like a breeze to him. I just cannot understand him, for me a travel along the motorway is a very stressing experience. I just cannot stop thinking about all the other cars and the strange things that sometimes people do when driving. Also I cannot stand the motorway when is full of trucks. Anyway nobody asked me to drive, but, I don’t know, I fear I won’t be able to do this trip even as a passenger. But imagine that I’ll make this travel, once we arrive to Berlin, what should we do?

But first let me tell what I think I should do if we’d choose to go to Berlin by air. First off, even if we choose a air travel, a little ride with the car cannot be avoided because in our town there is no airport. So we have to ride to a bigger town to catch this airplane. We then will need to wake up very early in the morning because the airline company needs you to be at their hub at least two hour before the take-off and you have to have bought your airline tickets in time or else forget your travel… why can’t the things be simpler!

Then I think I will have some problems on the airplane. I have never flied because I fear that a plane is travelling so far from the ground and that you have to be in a place that is tightly closed but maybe I will overcome this thing and I’ll be able to fly, maybe to Berlin, maybe to some other place.

Well I feel a little tired now and I think I will stop my ramblings for now. Next I want to put what should I do if I can get to Berlin, be it by car or by airplane.
